With Mercury in Aquarius it may be easy to hold onto a particular idea, since Aquarius is a fixed sign and mode of energy expression. It is important to be open, curious and in the observer mode. Communication may move swiftly at high-speed as will thinking about hings. First, I want to start with the understanding that Planets don’t cause anything in our lives. They do symbolize themes and issues in Consciousness and also we see at times direct manifestation of the (literal) examples in daily life. With that being said, let’s continue with exploring this important phase of development.

Mars shifts into Retrograde on Jan. 24th, 2012 at 23 degrees Virgo. Even though Mars may symbolize the need for speed, this all changes under a retrograde phase. It is a time of embracing the more slower, introspective movement. We must take our time to go over things so we don’t miss or skip over pertinent details or important facts.

Observing people over this last week, people seem to be skimming over important details even if the email or phone message is complete with all the information. So the conversation can feel like it is full of gaping holes and nothing comes from it except going back over things a few times. It is creating frustration and also irritations within everyone who is involved. With the sign of Virgo, we need to be sure we cover the details and such.

We need to SLOW DOWN to pay attention, SLOW DOWN to read, SLOW DOWN before taking action. Simple pause and slow down and gather up all the facts and details then reply or act or respond. That is the first key for you to work with the Mars retrograde.

Another example of Mars retrograde in Virgo in daily life is people may be highly scattered and high-strung. Juggling too many things and not prioritizing will only further the scattering and prevent one from being effective and efficient from start to finish. SLOW DOWN to regroup and get your list of priorities (today) in order. Don’t just come up with factual “To Do List.” Really contemplate what is important in life and then write your new list. Rip up the old lingering lists of the past. Start fresh.

Anger, rage and repressed energy is erupting from tightly wound up tension within people.  It appears that people are sending out darts or missiles of anger towards other people and may not even realize it since it’s coming out from their deep unconscious. While others are consciously attacking others because they don’t know what to do with the pent-up stress and frustration.

You may notice within yourself or with others, tension and worry creating tight bands of energy and toxins that constrict the energy flow in the body. It feels as if the breath is being squeezed out and you are on over-hyper drive inside. It is not a good feeling and also drains your energy rapidly. If you don’t take time to flush out the toxins, rest and decompress from the stress by rest, nutrition, drinking fresh water and eating healthy foods… the body and rest of you will suffer.  We must assimilate (Virgo) the past to be healthier in the present and future. Take a deeper look at where you are not taking care of your personal needs, therefore you are angry at “others.”  Even possibly projecting blame onto others instead of taking responsibility.  Now is the time to retrace where you do this and where you are feeling out of control to regain personal power.

Mars Retrograde in Virgo reminds us to hold ourselves accountable first as we have control over our choices, actions, thoughts, decisions, actions and behaviors. Change within first instead of reaching outward to change the person. Then after you make concrete changes within yourself, you are able to be more effective in changing your outer situation or circumstance.  If you are in an abusive relationship, first remove yourself from the situation get to safety and then examine what you need to change inside to ensure lasting change and healing. This phase of Mars symbolizes reviewing the last two years and honestly looking at where you have not grown and where you need to change so you are able to have a happier future.

Remember, Mars Retrograde in Virgo will bring up past themes and issues  – the ones that need healing, understanding and for you to make real lasting changes. Virgo symbolizes and teaches us about making our being and life more efficient, that means we must know where we are investing our energy, emotions and time and where we are falling short. It is a “must do” to re-prioritize our entire lifestyle not just business goals. Our approach to health, wellness, healing and nutrition is also included. If you are in tip-top shape from the “inside” then you are contributing your very best to the outside world; work, family, friends, projects and all of life.

Do your best not to linger on “I’m not good enough, I’m less than, obsessively comparing yourself, being compulsive in the wrong areas, overly picking apart instead of making real change…” For self-sabotage and self-doubt will create the results you don’t want. Overly critical or judgmental energy will pull the rug out from under your feet too.

Those with Earth signs at 20-26 degrees, this Mars Retrograde in Virgo may activate your eagerness to methodically go over past lingering projects or return to ideas and follow through. The best way to channel this would be to “de-clutter” life. This means, office, closets, garage, basements, boxes, drawers and so forth. Keep only the essentials and simplify things. Earth signs may enjoy the organizing part of all of this, and feel great about what get’s accomplished over the next few months!

Meditation, deep breathing, healing work and walking in nature will help tremendously. Be more aware of your behaviors. When you feel stressed or exhausted, take power naps to replenish under a Mars retrograde. Since Mars symbolizes our “energy” levels we may feel low or sluggish under the retrograde phase since the usual outward thurst of energy is being drawn inwards to other levels our being. Don’t expect projects to move full steam ahead now. Take action in small increments to best work with the amount of energy you do have.

What do you dream of experiencing in life ? Venus in Pisces brings awareness around expression of unconditional love in our interactions with ourselves and others. We may feel the interconnectedness of all of life. It is helpful to practice compassion and viewing all whom you encounter as the Divine, both human and animal. We can also practice being tender and kind to ourselves, loving ourselves unconditionally as well. Our heart’s may feel the urge to expand wide, so we can feel the genuine love for all. We may seek heart-felt connections and feel the need to relate how we feel to loved ones.

As Venus transits through Pisces, we are taught that looking at our daily life from a super wide lens, we must remember we are here to evolve and experience as Soul, as a human being. We have the opportunity to blend our Spiritual and human aspects as well as accept flaws as beauty.  Suffering may bring a person to exploring their Spirituality in relationships. As Venus transits through Pisces, we must seek to rise higher in Consciousness instead of hovering at the depths of depression and suffering.  Forgiveness plays a huge role now. Ask yourself whom you can forgive? What can you let go of?

We may want to find ways of being of “service” and helping those in real need. Be careful you don’t fall into the off-balance energy of the Martyr archetype and the illusion of helping those who are overly “needy.” It won’t end well. If you are numbing yourself after helping others, excessively drinking, self medicating or engaging in avoidance of the issues – this is the off-balance of Venus in Pisces. Take a good honest look at what’s going on.

Don’t fall into the trap of the smoke and mirrors. Stand up for what you deserve, which is real love. Self-sacrificing yourself until you are the one that suffers in an ongoing way is plain silly and you will… one day be extremely unhappy. So yes, we learn much about how to really sacrifice and what type of sacrifice will put you in the unhealthy mode of staying a victim.

Venus in Pisces stirs our romantic side. We seek to love the “Other” as a doorway to the Divine. Simple, pure, heart-felt love. Of course with Venus in Pisces we may extract what is real inspiration and love and what is fantasy and illusion love. And even when we see the significant other in our lives as the Divine, we must practice accept them as they are. Love them as they are. Support, honor and respect them.  And you can also practice being on the receiving end as well. We may just get inspired to do gestures of kindness with no expectations.  Follow the heart and use common sense.

The potential of Venus in Pisces is to; express the love you are, free of strings and conditions. Relating to others with compassion and kindness, and knowing the balance of giving and receiving. Take this opportunity to forgive, heal and move forward too.

These are a few of the important questions when we take a closer look at Saturn’s lessons and teachings. Saturn symbolizing the master life coach encourages us to move into “balance.” If we remain in Lack Consciousness we will expect the same of others. We remain in scarcity, being overly frugal and a cheapskate. This is minimizing your Divinity. The natural state as Soul is abundant and full of prosperity (not just financial.) And over time, it creates a off-balance with ripples into many areas including the physical body.

Having Lack Consciousness, fear rules you and dictates how you view others or how you give to others. The ego runs like a crazed monkey here, thinking me me me, I-I I. “What can I get from this. Never mind what the other thinks, feels or experiences.” In this selfish immature zone, the ego left to its own devices will singularly keep you limited and competing for things.

Before you place an opinion or judgment on another place yourself in their shoes. Walk a mile in their shoes. Only then will you even begin to understand their journey or make unrealistic demands upon them. And being in Lack Consciousness, you live, breathe and exist in survival mode alone. This exhausts and deletes your energy!

Life gives to us without conditions. Saturn in Libra helps us through real life experiences to honor and respect the “free” things given forth. We must respect those in our lives also who give to us willingly and without conditions or reservation. Or you may be in need of respecting yourself if you have given a lot to others.

With Saturn’s transit through Libra, the lesson of worthiness is really important here. If you respect yourself and feel worthy inside as well as a self-love you will express more of that with others you are in any type of relationship to. Then you will surround yourself with those who also reflect that vibration.  Prosperity and Love Consciousness is radically different. You are thriving, feeling you deserve and deep sense of worthiness emanates from you. Your vibe then radiates this into the world. Your passion then attracts more opportunities for all kinds of things; love, money, projects and even new friendships. This is a higher state of Consciousness, one as Soul. And there is pure abundance  here, an overflow in life.

Where Saturn in Libra teaches about the “We Consciousness.” Think balance, harmony and equality. Here we want harmony with All. This is very different than peace at all costs. Harmony with all and for all, is that we realize we are indeed interconnected with one another. Honor and respect that. Start to expand your perception into the “WE Consciousness.”

There is an art to relationship. It can be simple and complex all at the same time. Yet when you respect and value yourself, this self-love will not tolerate any abuse or emotional toxic energy from another. This self-love in practice helps you claim your worth, honor your talents and skills. You expand Consciousness feeling you deserve the goodness. Only then can you understand another person’s joy as they too feel they deserve to receive.

In day-to-day life, the scales tip too often and people justify and make excuses for their shortcomings. Now is the time to take responsibility. We must seek to balance the giving and receiving. For some they need to learn to receive for others they need to learn to give back. While others are trapped in the middle giving to the wrong people while then scrambling to take from those who give freely.  It is time to apply this golden morsel of wisdom. With Saturn’s symbolism, we know through sincere effort and application we manifest a reality that provides kudos of our accomplishments.

Each person has to at some point learn about the art of relationship and the balance of giving and receiving since it is a Universal guideline. The question is do you want to fall short and live in fear-based survival mode or do you want to rise out of it and live a life that is full of goodness and attract to you what you deserve as a part of your higher potentials?

The Sun in Capricorn (physical/professional) and the Moon in Cancer (emotional/personal) may be at odds, pulling in opposites directions. Yet, they can be very complimentary as we seek to find balance between both worlds.Through emotional reactions and sensitive issues that arise now, we can find exactly which spot or situation to address first.

Transiting Mercury in Capricorn symbolically entices us to think practically and maturely which is a nice balance to the emotional waves happening now. This Full Moon is not nearly as potent, yet will bring up some dormant issues. Also, transiting Mars in Virgo making a nice opportunity aspect to the Full Moon in Cancer, pin points the specific spot we can zero in on to heal or clean up. Predictions on the other hand may tighten the grip and leave a person with a twang of anxiety and even a bit gloomy if not given forth in a loving empowered manner.  Life is benevolent and kind it is up to us to recognize it. From my point of view, 2012 is rich with possibilities and even a few pleasing surprises. Have the courage to make the most of this year.

One major theme is getting back to the basics and being self-sufficient in life. That means doing an overhaul and weeding out “lack Consciousness” too. We must live in harmony and balance with life and Nature. Another thing to look at is “Accepting Change.” Get used to things in flux and creative chaos because many structures and systems are also in need to evolve with the shift of Consciousness on the planet. We are to be responsible for own corner of the Universe and believe me that contributes to the whole. It is up to you to bypass fear mongering and living in survival. We are meant to adapt to the changes yet live an abundant life. Nature can teach us so much more as can the plant and animal kingdoms. Mourn not for what is exiting now, but cherish what remains in your life. Celebrate it as much as possible. Live in Joy this year.

Jupiter’s symbolism suggests we stretch our Consciousness and return to the natural worldview of Life and the Universe being a kind loving and generous. Life wants to provide us the very best. It is up to us to examine our rigidly held false beliefs and limiting patterns which may prevent us from accessing this jovial energy and goodness in life. Taurus is governed by Venus, here we are put in touch with our sensibility and deepest Spiritual values. We must act to conserve, build and remain steady on course.

Combined, Jupiter in Taurus suggests we explore, expand and integrate upon what is valuable, build on solid ground and engage in activities which stretch our senses into unknown horizons. We must grow now, and a great amount of healing energy is accessible to heal issues around body image, self-worth, as well as our physical body especially the throat energy center.

Don’t let it pass you by, you must take practical actions to make real use of this symbolism in your life. This combination of Jupiter/Pluto helps us shape and mold our inspirations and creative ideas into form. We ground and materialize our dreams and visions now — IF we constructively work with this symbolism. Pamper the body, soothe heart and most of all… settle for the best in life (not just the dollar amount but also long-lasting happiness too!) You deserve the best in all aspects.

Remember, think of this astrological shift in energy as a Gift from the Heavens… just in time to help us feel optimistic and jovial as we are on the brink of a New year! On the heels of the Solstice portal, this New Moon ushers in new beginnings on the brink of the New Year. We can set intention towards “supportive structures and platforms” upon which to build our future. We must walk in integrity within our Soul’s purpose and plan. Each step is deeply meaningful now, each choice brings us closer or drifts us apart. Read the short inspired message for the Winter Solistice on Mystic Fire Blog.

The New Moon in Capricorn is close to Pluto in Capricorn, this symbolizes a depth of feeling and expression. We may want to dig into our reserves and draw out joy and love to feel regardless of anything now. And this new moon is very much cuddled and supported symbolically by Jupiter in Taurus (going Direct on Dec. 25th so there is an optimistic energy weaving around the New Moon). This is a tremendous “boost” of positivity and goodness. We may attract what we need, perhaps not what we expect. Look beyond what you expect. Seek to see with Soul eyes how gracious Life. Our needs are met even if there is anxiety about the future or the next step. Feel the gratitude running through you.

Take time to strengthen and fortify your base structure, internal and external levels. With sincere effort and self-discipline (Capricorn) we can attain any size goals now! There is a boost of positive healing energy that which helps us overcome doubts, and brings hope which shines bright beyond the dim clouds of uncertainty. The New Moon in Capricorn helps us become masters instead of at the mercy of the fear-based thought-forms.

We often measure success through the outer world status, prestige and accumulation of money. With the New Moon in Capricorn still making a connection to Uranus in Aries, we are invited to be inventive and break out of the stale stuck conventional box.

Capricorn governs the knees in medical astrology, so why not kneel down on our knees to give thanks and sincerely humble ourselves to knowing that we are a fraction of the vastness of life. We need to be in relationship with the Divine and recognize how guided we are. The New Moon in Capricorn we may want to do few stretches or yoga poses which “supports” this deeper alignment with Soul and All that Is.

Start to think and feel that success as a quality of Soul. You are already successful as a Soul. Lift your Consciousness higher and express this in all you take part in. This sense of empowerment and success can not be lost nor stripped away. On December 21st/22nd, 2011 marks the Winter Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere. It is one of the important portals of the year in astrological life cycles.

When we approach the Winter Solstice, the days are the shortest (more Yin than Yang energy) and there is least amount of light in the day. This represents a phase of introspection and going inside our Sacred Sanctuary to be still to receive from Life. We are given much to contemplate and integrate now as our energy is drawn inwards. It is a phase of consolidating and gathering before the Spring-time.

We can set the intention to tune into the energies at least three days before the actual Solstice point. It is best to create time for beingness and stillness. The Sun enters Capricorn at 0 degrees on December 22, 12:30 A.M. EST timezone (check for your local time).  The Sun symbolizes vitality, individual expression and style as well as conscious awareness. It brings “light” into life, as the Sun shines we see with clarity. We feel the warmth and life-giving energy from the Sun’s rays.

On December 22nd, the Sun in Capricorn ‘Square’ Uranus in Aries. This can be a  challenging energy. Solstice and Equinox points in Astrology are considered “power points.” So you can sense the importance and profound energies happening now. They mean business! Helping us to become prepared and equipped for a new year full of new potential and possibilities. The tense aspect between Sun/Uranus prompts growth through friction or internal limitations. You must gain clarity where you have imposed restrictions upon yourself and your expression, then you are able to find the way out of the box. Through patience, perseverance and grounded action one is able to make strong progress no matter what literal or symbolic storms appear along life’s journey.

December 28th and 29th, the Sun ‘Conjunct’ Pluto in Capricorn. A profound energy to go through a molting process. We shed old energies, behaviors and habits which dis-empower us. We are able to symbolically die to be reborn and express with more confidence and empowerment than before with the potential of this aspect of Sun/Pluto. The clarity or understanding is crystal clear on a tangible level. Yet the energies unfolding may feel intense and perhaps uncomfortable as we shed light to issues or situation which was kept in the dark or buried.

This Winter Solstice 2011 does feel a bit strange, as life is churning and things are rearranging themselves.  Energies feel a bit fanatic and random even a bit disjointed. It almost feels as if people are already inside of themselves. For some, they are unaware of the impact and pain they cause upon another.  Self-awareness is contracted here and must be expanded outwards again. Others are lashing out or latching onto people in desperation and fear. The one thing about the Solstice portal is that we must dive into the heart of the “storm” and come through to the other side. The light and goodness is there and in the aftermath and with some distance we will recognize it. Have compassion and take time to understand the experiences that are happening now. Important insights are flying about and we are to reach upwards and grab them.
